Social Psychiatry and Epidemiology in a changing world

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 18th meeting of the Section of Epidemiology and Social Psychiatry of the European Psychiatric Association (EPA) – Social Psychiatry and Epidemiology in a changing world in Gothenburg, Sweden November 30-December 3, 2016. Psychiatric epidemiology and social psychiatry are the foundation for knowledge on disease burden and etiology, prevention, mental health service and treatment planning. The meeting will cover a wide array of themes within social psychiatry, psychiatric epidemiology and mental health. Plenary lectures will be combined with parallel sessions presenting innovative research, symposia, debates and pre-conference courses focusing on methodology.

The city of Gothenburg is a busy tourist destination, offering a variety of culture, history and amusement. During the time of the meeting, the Gothenburg Christmas Town is taking place offering spectacular Christmas lightning all over the city center, shopping, and a special Christmas Market, including reindeer, at the amusement park Liseberg just 300 metres from the conference venue. If you want to extend your stay, Gothenburg offers easy access to a beautiful archipelago. Gothenburg is a small and compact city with everything within walking distance. The social program will include informal options for young researchers in addition to the ordinary receptions and dinners.
Gothenburg has an international airport with direct international flights from all major hubs in Europe. There is a 30-minute shuttle bus service from the airport running every 15 minutes with a stop close to the conference hotel.
